New destination in the USA: Non-stop with Condor to Austin, Texas

Today, the leisure airline Condor celebrated its first flight from Frankfurt (FRA) to Austin, Texas (AUS). This southern state metropolis has been added as a new destination, departing from Frankfurt every Monday and Thursday in summer 2016. The Boeing 767 with flight number DE2082 departed Frankfurt Airport on-time at 2:25 p.m.

“We are very proud to add Austin to Condor’s longhaul flight schedule as the 16th destination in North America and first in Texas, and are happy to offer another attractive travel destination,” said Jens Boyd, Director of Long Haul & Revenue Management at Condor & Thomas Cook Airlines. “The demand for flights to the USA is increasing and we are already excited about next year’s new destinations: San Diego and New Orleans.

"This summer, Austin will be added to Condor’s North America schedule, which includes Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Las Vegas (LAS), Portland/Oregon (PDX), Providence/Rhode Island (PVD), Minneapolis/Minnesota (MSP), Seattle (SEA), Anchorage (ANC), Calgary (YYC), Fairbanks (FAI), Halifax (YHZ), Toronto (YYZ), Vancouver (YVR) and Whitehorse (YXY), and starting in summer 2017, San Diego (SAN) and New Orleans (MSY). With Thomas Cook Airlines UK, customers can also choose from US destinations Miami (MIA), Orlando (MCO), Las Vegas (LAS) and New York (JFK) as well as Boston (BOS) and Los Angeles (LAX).

“I am pleased to welcome Condor to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport with a new nonstop to Frankfurt, Germany. Austin is a magical and ever-more international city, and this flight provides new access for Austinites, as well as those who want to visit us,” said Austin Mayor Steve Adler.

“The people of Austin themselves love to travel. And we are glad that we are able to offer them a new and inexpensive direct connection to Germany as well as a variety of exciting travel destinations in Europe through our attractive airline partnerships,” commented Jens Boyd, on Condor’s twice weekly direct flight to Frankfurt.

Austin, the capital of the state of Texas, has a lot for visitors to discover. The city situated on the Colorado River is well-known as the live music capital of the world, offering an unparalleled concentration of music clubs and live concerts. But Austin is also appealing outside of its fantastic music scene. The picturesque landscape surrounding the city, with its mountains and rivers, is perfectly suited for outdoor recreation activities, such as swimming or canoeing, with nearby Lake Austin a popular spot for water sports enthusiasts. The University of Texas, with a student population of over 50,000, also makes Austin a very young and vibrant city. “Keep Austin Weird” is a slogan characteristic of the student atmosphere that visitors can experience first-hand in the Texas capital.
