Thomas Cook Group Airlines wins top travel and tourism awards

Thomas Cook Group Airlines, which includes Thomas Cook Airlines in the UK, Scandinavia, Belgium and Condor in Germany, has won four prestigious travel and tourism awards – making a total of 61 awards in just five years.

For the third year running, Thomas Cook Airlines has been voted Europe's Leading Charter Airline at the World Travel Awards. The ceremony was in St Petersburg in Russia. World Travel Awards aims to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate excellence in travel tourism, and Thomas Cook Airlines was chosen by voters across the globe for this year’s World Travel Award.

"To win this award for the third year running is fantastic news. Voted for by our industry peers and customers, the World Travel Awards’ Europe’s Leading Charter Airline Award shows just what a great airline we are," says Thomas Cook Group Airlines Chief Office, Christoph Debus.

The Scandinavian part of the airline also took home an award. The Danish Travel Awards were held in Cirkus in Copenhagen, and Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia received the award for Best Danish charter airline. A judging panel, which included 2,000 consumers, chose the award winners, with the focus this year on ‘quality’. Thomas Cook Airlines won ahead of SAS ad TUI Nordic.

Germany-based Condor received the award for Service Champion nominated by newspaper Die Welt. This is the fourth consecutive year Condor has received the prestigious award and was even able to improve the score in comparison to last year.

And last but not least, Condor was also given the German Fairness Award 2017, after already winning in 2014 and 2016. The German Fairness Award is based on a representative survey of more than 45,000 German consumers and assesses the transparency of customer relations, the value-for-money ratio and the reliability of products and services. Condor ranked ahead of competitors such as Eurowings, Ryanair and easyJet.
