Condor with more aircraft and flights in Summer 2019

Frankfurt, 31 January 2019 – More aircraft and flights in summer 2019: With 17 long-haul aircraft, Condor takes off even more frequently to the USA and Canada in the summer schedule. With three additional, own aircraft and hence 41 short and medium-haul aircraft in total, Condor also offers more flights to Italy, Croatia, Turkey and to the Balearic Islands. Flights on short- and medium-haul routes can be booked from as little as EUR 34.99 EUR, while holidaymakers travel to the USA from EUR 279.99 EUR per person and route.

Additional own aircraft

The Thomas Cook Group Airline includes two additional Airbus A321 into its fleet, one of which will be flown into the fleet of Condor and its sister airline Thomas Cook Airlines UK until spring 2019. In addition, two more Boeing 757s will be flying for Condor from February onwards, that used to operate for the sister airline in Great Britain recently. With 103 aircraft in the summer of 2019, the Group Airline has the largest fleet of its own aircraft in its history.

The increase clearly shows Condor’s focus on operational stability: "Using additional aircraft of our own is another measure to live up to our promise of quality during the high season next summer," says Christoph Debus, Chief Airline Officer of the Thomas Cook Group.

Even more often to the USA and Canada

Compared to last summer, Condor offers an additional weekly flight to Las Vegas (five times a week), Portland (five times a week), Phoenix (three times a week) and Calgary (four times a week) and Halifax (five times a week). The flights are operated by a Condor-Boeing 767-300.

In order to meet the continuing high demand for long-haul services, Condor uses an Airbus A330 on selected routes during the summer season, which was flown last year by Group Airline sister Thomas Cook Airlines in the UK. "The aircraft conforms to Group airline standards both internally and externally, it is equipped with our Group Airline painting and on board our guests enjoy the familiar service of Condor flight attendants," says Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor.

More Turkey, Greece and Italy

The Thomas Cook Group Airline is adding two Airbus A321 to its fleet – the largest fleet of the Group Airline ever – one departing for Thomas Cook Airlines UK and one for Condor in Germany. A total of 41 short- and medium-haul aircraft are in service in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Munich, Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig and Stuttgart.

"For summer 2019, the clear favourites are Greece, Turkey and Italy. In order to meet our customers’ wishes we have shifted capacities in summer 2019 and thus offer a variety of connections to the Germans’ most popular destinations," explains Ralf Teckentrup. From Stuttgart, three Boeing 737s of a partner airline are in service, which take off with Condor painting and Condor flight attendants in order to also meet the demands in Baden Württemberg.
