Frankfurt, 17 October 2019 - Germany's most popular leisure airline is adding a new destination to its summer flight schedule for 2020, flying to Paphos in Cyprus eight times a week. The flights will depart from Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf and Leipzig every Monday and Friday, and can be booked from 99,99 Euro at www.condor.com, by phone or through a travel agency. All major German tour operators have already booked contingents with Condor and offer an attractive Cyprus program for a dream holiday on the Mediterranean.
“Cyprus ideally complements our flight schedule and we are expanding our route network around the Mediterranean with Paphos,” says Ralf Teckentrup, CEO of Condor. “We are convinced of Cyprus and the growing importance of the EU country for European tourism. Condor, as a leisure airline, is therefore the right partner for a close cooperation with the Cypriot Ministry of Tourism and the entire industry, and we look forward to intensifying this partnership.”
Paphos was the first city in Cyprus to be named as a cultural capital of Europe in 2017. Located in the green west of the island, Paphos is also known for its historic sites and archaeological finds, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The mild climate and the mix of sun, the sea and impressive landscapes make Cyprus one of the most attractive holiday destinations in the Mediterranean all year round.
Savvas Perdios, Tourism Minister of Cyprus, is delighted: “Condor is a great asset for the Cypriot tourism industry. Together we will continue to develop Cyprus as a year-round destination and are already actively working on its design.”
Eleni Kaloyirou, CEO Hermes Airports: “Paphos Airport is the ideal starting point for holidaymakers in Cyprus all year round. We are very happy to see that the collective effort of the last few months has paid off and look forward to welcoming Condor at our modern airport.”
