FlyPink: Condor launches breast cancer campaign

Frankfurt, 1 October 2019 - In October, Germany's most popular leisure airline takes off again in pink: Condor aims to raise awareness for the disease in October, the breast cancer awareness month, with pink uniform accessories and other items on the ground and in the air, to show solidarity with all those affected and to collect donations. For the fourth year in a row, Condor is committed to the global initiative of the aviation industry, which supports organizations worldwide in the prevention, treatment and research of breast cancer. The proceeds from FlyPink will be donated to German Cancer Aid.

In October, Condor crews wear epaulettes with pink stripes and pink accessories such as scarves, ties and pins instead of their golden-ranked epaulettes. The purchase and wearing of fly-pink accessories is voluntary. Ground staff also use pink accessories such as pens, coffee cups and lanyards to support the initiative.

"In October Condor is simply pink! The support of all our employees for FlyPink is enormous every year. It makes me proud that Condor is sticking to this campaign in the current time and is committed to the fight against breast cancer," says Christine Berger-Danzinger, Purser and project manager for FlyPink at Condor.

For the first time, all Condor guests can support the campaign as well: On all flights, donations for FlyPink are collected that are fully transferred to German Cancer Aid. On long-haul flights in Premium and Business Class, guests receive pink feel-good bags, while in Economy Class all cushions are designed in pink. On short- and medium-haul flights, Condor donates 50 cents directly to German Cancer Aid for six euros when purchasing Bottega Rose and Bottega Gold sparkling wines.
