Larger carry-on baggage, more checked baggage: Condor improves conditions for its guests

Germany’s second-largest network carrier Condor is simplifying its baggage policies and will become even more customer-friendly in the future: Effective May 1, 2026, a new size standard of 55 x 40 x 23 centimeters will apply to carry-on baggage. In addition, the permitted size of the small personal item included in every fare will be increased to 40 x 30 x 15 centimeters.

Starting May 1, 2027, Condor will also increase checked baggage allowances and introduce uniform regulations across all routes: In the respective Economy Class fares, one piece of baggage weighing 23 kilograms instead of the previous 20 kilograms will be included; guests in Premium Economy Class will be able to bring one piece of baggage weighing 32 kilograms instead of the previous 25 kilograms; and in Business Class, the free baggage allowance will be expanded to two pieces of baggage weighing 32 kilograms each instead of the previous 30 kilograms per person. The new baggage rules will apply to all destinations across the entire Condor route network.

“Through Condor’s ongoing development from a leisure airline to a network airline with its own city network and international partner airlines, aligning baggage policies with international standards represents the next logical step,” said Christian Schmitt, COO of Condor. “The new baggage regulations provide guests with improved conditions and reduced complexity, particularly for connecting flights.”

With the transition to route-independent baggage standards, Condor replaces the previous destination-based regulations and creates greater transparency across all fares. Uniform rules facilitate combinations with flights from partner airlines and increase planning reliability throughout the entire journey. At the same time, guests benefit from clearer processes at check-in, better comparability of offers, and an overall smoother travel experience.
